Learning Philosophy
With a Learner or Growth Mindset a person is actively learning and experiencing the reality of "Not Yet". To grow as a person it is inevitable that you find something you will want to learn about, to increase your knowledge in the subject. In the beginning you will fall short, the not yet stage, but you will learn and you will grow.
About me:
My name is Stephenie Smith and I have been an educator for 14 years. My certifications are in Secondary Math Education and Business and Technology. My teaching experience is 1 year as an In-School Suspension teacher, 9 years in a Discipline Alternative Education Program, and 4 years at Hope High School, an accelerated alternative high school. Before becoming a teacher, I was a bookkeeper for 23 years in insurance, automotive, construction and a school district.

My education includes a Bachelor's of Arts and Sciences in Computer Science and a Bachelor's of Education in Secondary Mathematics. I am currently pursuing my Master's of Technology Education Leadership at Lamar University.

My husband and I have 2 children and 1 granddaughter.
